WhatsApp is one of the best and easiest application for text and voice chatting. Every smartphone owner knows about WhatsApp, and everyone has the application on their smartphone. Through WhatsApp, you can share contacts, bank details, photos, videos and more. There is nothing impossible in WhatsApp. When you are going to share so much of data, it is essential to think about security and privacy settings. There are lots of wicked minds ready to cheat or misuse your information. It is, therefore, best to safeguard the application in the right way before starting to use. Here listing some tips and ways to protect your personal chats.

Lock WhatsApp: It is best to lock your application with security key or password so that no one could open or read your private chat. This feature is not available in your WhatsApp, but you can use a third application to lock your application. It is easily available for all mobile platforms. Secure Chat, Lock of WhatsApp and Messenger and Chat Lock are some of the best Android apps that help to lock your application.

Block from photo roll: Most of the people maintain some personal conversations and they wish to keep it personal. When you are sharing images or video, it would automatically get stored in the stored general photostream.  In order to fix this, you need to change the settings and deselect the option of saving images in the photostream. It is easy to activate in iPhone and Android phones. In iPhone, you need to go the settings menu, select Privacy option and go to Photos. Under the option WhatsApp, deselect the photo roll saving option. This way, the photos would not get stored in your gallery. Android users have to scan and find the folders like WhatsApp images and WhatsApp videos and create a folder called ‘.nomedia’. When you create this inside each folder, you can stop the gallery to scan the WhatsApp folder.

Hide ‘last seen’: If you do not want to show off yourself of when you are coming online and offline, you can turn off this option by changing the settings in privacy menu.
